Earcandy Cabs

Anyone on here dealt with this company? I've been around quite a few forums lately asking for peoples experiences (maybe some of you'll have seen my posts on rig-talk and Thegearpage) and advice on if anyone's actually recieved an amp on time or recieved a refund (ever).

I wish to get the latter, it's been 2 years now since my first payment. I've dealt with one or two custom companies and I have never recieved so many excuses/lies/problems and don't think I ever will again as with this company:

I'm from England, Earcandy is from America (275 Robbie Ln., Valparaiso, IN 46385-8836 infact) so attorneys = hard for me to organise but that's the road it seems to be taking now. Anyone else done similarly?

Re: Earcandy Cabs

It won't help your current situation any, but I thoroughly recommend Zilla Cabs in London for the next time you're after a custom cab.

Hope you get sorted with Earcandy :)

Re: Earcandy Cabs

They're cheap! Nice looking though I'm a bit scared of buying before trying now. I wonder if these guys could do some fancy wood stuff ala Earcandy's style? That's the shame, no one else that I'm aware of does cabs/rackmount stuff in fancy woods... Shame,

There is a recent thread about Earcandy here. Notoriously unreliable!

Ha, fancy that. I filed a complain on;

http://www.bbb.org/northernindiana/business-reviews/amplifiers/earcandy-in-valparaiso-in-90019338

Didn't yield any result other than hearing a few more excuses and lies from Tim. I think everyone having a problem with him should bother to take the time to fill out a complain on here and try and do something about it. The number of people this guy has the money of is just insane. It's theft and he needs to be stopped. It's a lot of money for me!

Re: Earcandy Cabs

glad you got approval to order one!

yeah, many in the same boat you are.. A word of caution tho. Careful what you say. The duncan forum doesnt allow speaking bad of those who cant defend themselves.
Just thought Id mention.. I hope you get resolution to this.. Id be so ticked in the same position.. I ALMOST did order till I got wind...

Really? I'm not, I'm about 900 dollars down, cabinetless and have spent a LOT of time on this issue. Besides, I payed for the product in full 10 May 2009, first payment was way before that...

If the Duncan forum wants to delete reviews that help people choose products then that is mad (On the grander scale of things, imagine if no one spoke up about having issues with Earcandy - imagine all the extra orders made that'd have these same problems)... the solution isn't to ignore the problem...

No they're not overly fancy woods etc, but they're made from good solid birch ply and are very sturdy. I have 1 of the Fat Boy 2x12 cabs and it's the next best thing to a 4x12 for bass response and fullness of sound :)

I bought four Bassbombs around year 1996. I had no problems with service or product. Excellent cabs. Tim did all he could to help me get exactly what I wanted. Perhaps affairs have turned differently since then.

I know this is LONG after the fact, but I wanted to say that I was being sarcastic about my glad you got permission statement. I think its NUTS that you have to get permission from a company to order something from them. Only if it was like a member only club or something..

Re: Earcandy Cabs

I was sufficiently turned off by the product descriptions.

Re: Earcandy Cabs

I've got a couple of empty Earcandy 1X12's in the basement. Quit using them when I got thieles.

I thought they closed up? They got great reviews, everyone liked them, then there were delays in orders, then they closed up? I was surprised since they seemed to be doing pretty well

Re: Earcandy Cabs

My understanding was that they had major delivery issues that led to their closure. Mine took about three months from order to delivery. It was a wonderful cab, my #1 until I went digital into a full-range speaker. It wasn't cheap but had some awesome features and I didn't consider it at all overpriced.
