Early mix of a new 'kimono rock' song

This is a songwriting demo that I've been roughing out before we lay down scratch vocals, basically to come to grips with some new studio gear that I've purchased.

The drums and bass were tracked live in our rehearsal room @ Ultrasound, NYC. Two Sure SM57s in an XY over the drum kit, D112 on the kick. (No mic hole on the kick drum, which is why there's so little attack)

Bass is a Warmoth parts guitar tracked direct through a Tech 21 Bass Driver.

DI guitar was re-tracked at home. For guitar I used the following:

Warmoth/parts guitar with Bare Knuckle VHII bridge/Trilogy Suite neck pickups
Thundertomate Phil Hilborne treble booster
Splawn Quick Rod (full power ... Gear 1 ... clean channel)
Randall iso cab fitted with Scumback M75
Sennheiser e609 Silver
SSL XLogic mic pre

Corrective EQ and reverb were done in post using a UAD-1 card.

Yup..thats the vibe I get too! Or even a Physical Graffiti type thing?

Ben- sounds great! I think that it needs some strategic MXR Phase 90 (or clone) here and there (maybe the rhythm parts undeneath the solo) but otherwise perfect :bigthumb: Also very cool to hear you doing this kind of stuff in addition to TO type Euro-power metal.
