Ebanol nut for rear mounted Floyd Rose nut?

I'm looking at the following Ebanol nut to replace the Floyd nut on my EVH Wolfgang Special (since I think the whole floyd+fine tuners thing just unnecessarily complicates a hardtail guitar):

http://www.allparts.com/BN-0623-023-ABM-7092-Ebanol-Nut-for-Floyd-Rose_p_775.html

Problem is, it looks like this would only replace a Floyd nut that mounts from the top (fretboard) side of the neck, not the more common rear-mounted Floyd nut that's on my guitar (the one w/ the two bolts in the back of the neck that secures it).

I can't seem to find anything on the net showing whether or not these Ebanol nuts can be used to replace rear-mounted Floyd nuts.

Anyone know for sure?

Whats the guitar?

I have a carvin dc without a locking nut and its pain in the ass to keep in tune. Imo taking away the locking nut takes away the true essence of the tremolo.

It's an EVH Wolfgang Special Hardtail, so it doesn't even need a locking nut in the first place (but for some reason Ed thought even hardtail models needed a floyd nut!)

Oh right you did say that i just cant read. it has a fine tuning schaller style tail piece? That sounds like the ultimate in tuning stability right there.

Whats not to like about that goodness?

It's possible to convert a backmount to a topmount. I did it with an Ibanez RG270DX.

But is the existing hardware not working the way it's supposed to? Sounds like it would be baller.

It just seems like alot of hassle to deal with a floyd nut and fine tuners on a hardtail-- it works fine, it just seems unnecessary. If it had a Floyd, then the locking nut, etc. would be worth the hassle to deal with, but as it is, a hardtail's tuning stability is fine. Just seems like overkill is all.

I think I'll just end up putting a set of strings on that are geared towards longer life (like a coated set) so I don't have to deal w/ string changes on this guitar as much.
