EBMM trem abuse. (video)

Re: EBMM trem abuse. (video)

Cool finish on that guitar.

Why did he place the tuner half way accross the house?

Are those Boss pedal tuners good if you can't see very well?

Re: EBMM trem abuse. (video)

"I know it's not very musical"

DUH... sounds like crap... but it's kool that it stayed in tune, but he could have been tuning in that long walk across the room to the tuner...

Re: EBMM trem abuse. (video)

Could be Kac... but it was almost dead on when he tuned it again. Then again he isn't trying to sell it...

I can vouch for the tuning stability of EBMM's though. I own the SUB1 and it really is something.

Re: EBMM trem abuse. (video)

Guys -

Just to let you know - the purpose of that video was to show how well the JP trem stays in tune - regardless of the amount of abuse it is given. It was never intended to "sound good" - just a demo of the tuning stability. And it is true I was not and am not trying to sell anything.

The reason the tuner is across the room is that it currently sits on my workbench where I re-srting/tune/polish/intonate/etc....

My brother is building me a pedal board, and it is, as yet, incomplete. When it is done, finally, I assure you the tuner will be making it's way on the board (and hence, in front of my amp).

I know you guys don't know me from a hole in the wall. The only Duncan stuff I have are the pickups in my Albert Lee, a Tweak Fuzz and a Pickup Booster. I love them all! Looking forward to trying out the Lava Box soon.

Thanks for your time.

Greg

Hey Norrin,

Welcome. I'm glad you made it over; if only to clarify your video. There's a lot of love here for all EBMM gear. Of course you know me from the EBMM forum, asking all the noob questions about the Steve Morse model.

Cheers,

Re: EBMM trem abuse. (video)

"It's a Steve Vai tribute"

Impressive stability with the trem though. Is it a locking trem or not?

Re: EBMM trem abuse. (video)

EBMM tremelos are fantastic! My 7 string has had to be tuned twice since I got it a couple months back...well not really, I was just playing the chord wrong both instances. :D

Re: EBMM trem abuse. (video)

Any axe setup right will handle the same amount of abuse and be fine.

Just watch some of the Jeff Beck live stuff.....

I'm not impressed the EB managed to figure out how to do something that other manufacturers figured out how to do a long time ago.

Re: EBMM trem abuse. (video)

That's some brutal piss beating he did on it. Amazing how it stayed in tune, must be a great guitar.

Not true... A vintage Fender trem goes out about every time. They weren't originally designed for that Type of bending.

Jeff Beck uses a 2-point stainless steel bridge, locking tuners, and an LSR roller nut. There's nothing original or vintage about that setup; and that is what he uses live.

Sorry, manufactures didn't design tremolos to do that kind of bending. The vintage Fender trem was designed for light vibrato like a Bigsby. The first modern tremolo unit to go beyond light vibrato was the first Floyd Rose model in the early '80s...
