Catch a lil amp, by its tone....
So, I FINALLY got to experience some other mini amps today.. i played the Mesa 25, several of tiny terrors and the 5150 III.
I didnt bond well with the Oranges. I liked the Jim Root the best, but found them all very limited tonewise..
I REALLY liked the 5150 III mini! LOTS of great tones! I was slightly disappointed it didnt sound quite as gooey as the old 5150 I played.
I also really liked the Mesa Mini recto. Ive never been able to get pleasing sounds from a mesa that ive tried.. (im sure only due to lack of time to tweak). But this one, got good cleans and gain.. I REALLY like it too.
I would have a hard time deciding tween the EVH and the Mesa. I think I prefer the EVh lead channel, but the mesa was built like a tank..
Just wanted to share my play day..
I just wish I could try a HK 36 tubemiester
