Effects Loop

I think I'm going to need an effects loop, but should I let that influence my decision on what head to get? I mean, I could always get "The Japanese Apartment" pedal that...I think Keeley sells. Or is an effects loop better?

Re: Effects Loop

Depends on what you'll be doing... also, keep in mind that your tastes might change. 3 months ago, you could have taken my FX loop away and I would've been fine. Now, if you go anywhere near it... I'll cut your ****ing hands off! LOL

Re: Effects Loop

That's true. Well I may end up being the only guitarist in this band, so I'll need an amp that can do clean as well as distorted. And I'll probably want to use a delay, phaser, flanger, and maybe an octave.

Re: Effects Loop

Going pedalroute or rackmount? You'll want delay, phaser, and flanger in the FX loop, IMO. Delay is a must in an FX loop, as infront of the amp it will just get muddy as hell; think of it as playing 5-6 guitars into the same amp. LOL

This is almost about your other thread, too, but I honestly think that in your situation, the 5150, XXX, JSX, Powerball, Fireball, Screamer, and Single Rectifier would all work out wonderfully, and all of those have FX loops.

I'll be doing pedals for sure, but I'm heavily considering getting a power conditioner, maybe two--one for the practice room, one for home.

I'm starting to think about ruling out the 5150 because I may be the only guitarist, and if so I'll need to play clean also.
