EH Small Clone Chrous

I just ordered one of these. I listened to a lot of clips and to my ear this sounded really good. Didn't have any ice picky digital qualities. Drawbacks I read about in reviews were popping noises when pedal is engaged and disengaged and flimsy construction of thin sheet metal which paint scratches off od easily. This is going in my rack and will be in it's own loop so none of these drawbacks matter. It would be nice to hear some feedback as to whether others think this thing sounds as good as I do.

I like mine. I've never noticed the popping sound. As for the scratched paint - maybe, but I don't consider that a problem.

One thing I like about this pedal is the minimal controls. Some may consider that a drawback, but it just makes like easier for me. And if it's going in a rack, you won't want to change the settings that much anyway.

Thanks.... Yea.. I'm only interested in dialing in one sound so it will be pretty much set and forget. I have a digital chorus on my rack mutli-fx, but this sounds so much warmer and fuller. Thanks for your feedback.

Its a solid, easy to use chorus that puts out a classic sound. Its kind of big though. I got rid of mine because I really couldn't find a use for it in my music.

I noticed no popping noise when I had mine.

I have one and my experiences mirror those already said...

Excellent chorus sound. I like it better than the Boss CE I have.

Simple controls - and it still sounds good. I leave mine at 1:00 with the switch down. I flip the switch up for more warble, but leave the knob alone. It gives me a cool Nirvana sound.

Slightly larger than your standard Boss pedal, but still fits on my board so its not an issue. Other EH pedals are HUGE!

My paint has not scratched yet, but that's not a big concern. Quality seems fine and holds up to my normal abuse.

No popping noise from mine. The switch itself makes a loud click, but no noise from the switch goes to the amp.

Re: EH Small Clone Chrous

As strange as it seems..... I only need it for one sound that is one song, and nothing else I have listened to comes close. I've got a digi chorus in the rack too which can be dialed in for subtle chorusing... but I need something big and thick for this application, and everything digital to me sounds way too phasey once you crank up the depth. The popping is not an issue even if it does happen.... I have signal router so I won't be using the effect's switch to turn it on and off.
