what type of routing is required to install these? is there significant alterarions to the pickup cavity?

They're encased in an EMG 5 string bass housing. They housing they're in is about as wide as a normal 7 string humbucker including the mounting tabs, (anotherwords, a bit longer) and the ends are square, so you wil definitely need some routing on most guitars, but not all that much. If you like I can get you exact measurements of mine. You'll also have to mount them directly into the guitar rather than with pickup rings, as the screw holes are part of the pickup housing. I didn't actually have to route to fit mine, as that guitar came with HZ707's, but I did look into it for another guitar. It won't be all that expensive I would imagine.
