EMG 81 without Quick-Connect ??!!??

How i can (or simply can i?) connect EMG 81 without quick connect with a new EMG 85 or EMG 60 neck with quick connect together?

I am thinking to buy EMG 85 or 60 for neck but dont know which one should fit better in a Gibson Explorer 1976 with EMG 81 in Bridge Position.. any ideas?

they're exactly the same man! just ignore the quik-connect bit and the wire colours etc are all the same.. they're identical apart from the break in the wire for the clip!

i would use an emg 60 in the neck, nice cleans smooth distortion

Thanks for information... :) I have another question. as i think i found the right guys for EMG information..

My Gibson explorer has standart Gibson 500K pots.. As i have started to use EMG 81 i realized that the sound is too treble.. Can it be because of my pots? The last Pup in Gibson was SH-5 and i bought EMG believing that it should be better. Noise cancelling and sustain is unbelievable but the overall tone is too bright.. Is that the character of 81 or is it because of pots?.

The reason of my question is that i also try and play guitars with EMG sets (ex: ESP eclipse,ESP Horizon) and they sound allright for me.. :rolleyes:

YOu have to use the 25K pots that come with the EMG. Otherwise you will get the too bright tone you have. Any EMG dealer can get these pots for you if yours didn't come with them.
