For a baritone guitar tuned to C. Which do you think would sound better and why?

As a side note: The pre-amp will be paired with a Spectrum-1 which is a mid-range and gain control circuit.

Mahogany body with maple cap. Maple neck.

Pickups: Blackouts Metal bridge, Blackouts Singles middle, Original Blackouts Neck.

I would go for the EXG. It is very similar to BTC but it is made for guitar unlike BTC (for bass) EXG will keep the clarity of the sound and I believe it is something you are looking for.
Are you also going to be using the loud and louder modes for Blackouts metal? Will you be using with a switch or push pull?

The Expander controls boost top and bottom whilst reducing midrange.

The BTC is a straightforward bass 'n' treble cur/boost active EQ. DIP switches allow some tailoring of the frequencies at which the EQ acts.

My choice would be the VMC. This allows the user to dial in the frequency at which the cut/boost is applied.
