When you take out the cable from your guitar, do the pickups still drain the battery? Or does it stop using the batteries?

No..........once you take out the cable from the input jack there's no battery usage.

That's the reason why you need a stereo input jack for active pickups.
Of course the regular mono works, but in this case the batteries are always activated.
If you plug in, the contacts are connected, if you plug out, they are disconnected.

Ah I see...I'm a "grasshopper" when it comes to Active pickups. lmao. Oh, btw, when I played a guitar with EMGs in it, they sounded the same as when I played with Passive, I could be mistaken, and maybe its because I was playing through a solid-state amp.
