How long is the battery life in EMG pickups, and how often do you have to change the battery in them?

months, depending on how often you use the guitar...

i've only got EMG bass pickups now, but their batteries have lasted 8 months or so in counting..

id say every 5 times you change strings, as a rule of thumb

its seriously not frequent enough to worry about man, its ages and ages.

Lots of people who diss EMGs always try to say that having to change the battery is a bad point about EMGs. It's not like you're changing the battery every week. It's not a big hastle to change batteries every pregnancy.

I know, I've had the same battery for over 7 months and never unplug the guitar when not in play. It's really hard to take out 4 screws and clip a new battery in. It takes about 60 seconds.

Using EMG's equation....

A guitar with two 81's will last aprox 3625 hours on one battery.

So, you could leave your guitar plugged in day and night for about 5 months before the battery dies.

I changed mine once a year and I gigged 3/nights a week....everything was fine. Just make sure you unplug your guitar when you're not using it.
