I have an original Kramer Focus 1000 from 86' and ther's one volume knob and a 3 way switch. Is it possible to have EMG's for this combo? I mean do I have to have a tone knob with the pups? The pics on EMG's site show the volume and the tone prewired together. And the site doesn't show the diagram for this combo either.

The only thing I would do is wire the pickup at 18volts. It'll give you more
headroom, slightly less compressed and a little more openness to the tone.
All you have to do is add another 9v battery clip. Wire the red wire of the first battery clip to the black wire of the second clip and wire the remaining red cable to the other red wire that goes to the pickup.
