EMG wiring help

Not sure if this is even possible, but I'm gonna assume it is. Got an EMG 81TW/89 set and I DO NOT want to take advantage of the single coil option. It sounds like **** (IMO). Has anyone else ever done this before? Is there a wiring diagram somewhere? Your help is very much appreciated!

I don't think so. Everything I've found says that the 89 is a switchable version of the 85, so the only thing you could do is to either wire it up and never use the push pull, or get an 81/85 set.

Re: EMG wiring help

From what I understand the 89 has three coils inside the housing, so it *should* be possible. Unfortunately I can't find *any* diagrams online which state which wire hooks up to which coil.

Re: EMG wiring help

Orange + Blue, Green to the pickup selector or volume pot, depending on your control layout.

I'd suggest leaving both the Yellow and White free and taped over, but not touching each other or anything else. Not sure if it would matter, since the push-pull decides which coil set gets the preamp (Orange), but I'd leave those two loose and covered, just to be safe.

Nice.

Ooooh, now you're making me think about grabbing one of those to try wiring it in parallel in the neck. :D
