Re: Eminence Comparison List

im still trying to figure out which ones to get. hopefully the list can be completed, but its unlikely unless someone can actually ask the eminence people.

Re: Eminence Comparison List

They don't actually sound exactly like the Celestions they are compared to though. The Eminence seems to have a smoother tone with less of the classic Celestion crunch. They sound awesome...don't get me wrong. But between the Wizard and my UK made G12H30's, I prefer the G12H30 and I'm keeping my G12H30's. Lew

Re: Eminence Comparison List

That's very true Lew, this is meant to be a list of "Modeled after_______ speaker".

Re: Eminence Comparison List

I have come to the conclusion that Eminence should have models with the same or closer resonant frequency as Celestions. I think that they might be better if that were so. The Eminence frequencies are quite a biy higher than Celestions and lose a little thump because of it. If you dont play metal music you may like Eminence better. My favorite Em,inence all around are the Texas / Manowar / Governor / Swamp thang / Wizard (without the volume and peircing highs) & Tonker for cleans only.

Lew nailed it again. ;)

There are some parallels when looking at Emi/Celstion's and Dimarzio/Duncan.

Duncan's and Celstion's are a bit more classic sounding, where Emi's and Dimarzio's are a bit smoother. All opinion, of course.

EDIT: Jumpmarine, the Ramrod is like a darker G12H30. It has early breakup, strong mids, with a decent top end. It's strength is in the lower-mids. A near perfect speaker for what amps with 10" speakers lack, IMO.
