Eminence Texas Heats

Hey guys, i just wanted to give a little thumbs up to the Eminence Texas Heat speakers i put into my Twin Reverb, since they sound awesome. They really match with Fender amps i think. Very solid bass that really projects, sort of neutral mids, and chimey highs. Overall good clarity making for a Devastatingly good clean tone :smokin:. They can take all the Twin Reverb dishes out to them and keep on tickin'. For what eminence sells these for, they are a complete deal. I would recommend this speaker to anyone looking to replace a speaker in a Fender amp, as i think it does a great job at producing that clean fender sound at any volume. And if you like to turn it up, the bass stays solid, and the mids seem to fill in, almost with a little british flavor. With the 150 watt rating, they will work with any Fender amp.

overall, i applaud Eminence for making such a great product in this price range

Dis you try them with an overdrive box in the chain? If so, how was that?

Re: Eminence Texas Heats

my guess is that these speakers are gonna start popping up more & more

they're great for the fender sound but they're also used in the krankenstein cab. Could be the new v30

Re: Eminence Texas Heats

I played the Eminence Texas Heats at NAMM this year and liked them alot. I prefer Celestion 12's and the way the British designers voice thier 12" speakers...but the Texas Heats are excellant speakers with more of an American voice. Great speakers...good choice for a Twin or Pro Reverb amp. Lew

I run my twin with an A/B box between the channels. To the vibrato channel i have my compressor and delay pedals, and i set it for a clean sound. To the normal channel i run my Duncan Tweak Fuzz, and i set that channel up for more mids and less treble. i guess the tweak fuzz isnt exactly an overdrive box, but it does sound good. Like i said, the more you turn the amp up, the more the mids seem to fill in from the speakers, and they sort of take on a slightly british tone, with a little crunch on the high end, and the low end stays solid. Overall, the speakers are just well balanced to my ears, so I would recommend them for probably any amp actually. I remember reading a report on the new Emi speakers from Tonequest (it can be found on the emi site), and those guys said the same thing too: they thought the Texas Heats were the best all around speakers with all the amps they used.
