Encountered a Teye Guitars Gypsy Queen today - interesting!

I was pickup up a guitar from my friend's shop when he showed me something interesting that had come through the door. I'd never heard of this maker before - Teye Guitars. This particular model is called a Gypsy Queen. It was quite a sight... I didn't get to play it but the craftsmanship was incredible, especially on the metal parts. The body seemed to balance well, too.

Anyone else seen, heard of, or played these?

I really like the compass rose around the jack

Whoa that is too cool.

Wonder what the mood knob does. Gotta help in switching between those 4 pups.

I've always been fascinated with guitars that follow the Zemaitis style of decorating the tops with aluminum etc.

That one ChrisofArabia has always nags at me.

According to my friend, it blends in that 3rd pickup (the middle one in the slanted trio) in and out of whatever you already have selected.

Certainly looks to be of exceptional quality but aesthetically a little too flamboyant for my tastes.

Unlike Joe, I have never been able to understand the desire for zemaitis,et.al style metalwork and exotic inlays.

Looks cool - tasteful engraving and what look like custom control knobs. Though, I'd prefer a regular 3 s/c setup.

Well, obviously, it puts any female member of the audience in the 'mood', as it were. On 0, they're just feeling a bit hot and bothered; on 10, all the kit is coming off and someone's getting lucky.

There's probably some special circuit wired in conjunction with the Lollars responsible for it...

A bit much for me(in most aspects),but I've heard/read great things about that company.

JeffB, I'm with you on that. I've not seen a Zemaitis that I could tolerate.

Too much metal covering up some gorgeous wood on this one...what a shame. There should be a law against it (somewhat tongue-in-cheek, I come from the state of too many laws).

My friend was working on it with the cover off, and apparently there's little/no figure on the front - any figuring on the back is the result of selective staining and such. According to the site, the body is cedar, which doesn't usually have a whole lot of figuring to it anyways.

I'd love to see one of these with a flame or quilt maple top and the designs burned into it, though. Best of both worlds that way.
