Engl Gigmaster 15 vs Rockmaster 20 Combos

I am interested in these combos but there is not much on the interweb about them. Anybody know the big difference between the two besides one has reverb and the other does not. Anybody played any of these? Does Engl make decent stuff?

Re: Engl Gigmaster 15 vs Rockmaster 20 Combos

Engls are built to survive a nuclear blast.

The Gigmaster is the less rude guy, let's say sonically it starts in the '70s and stops in the '80s. If I had to find an amp to compare with it feels like a supermini JCM800-ish thing, '80s AC DC. If I might say it makes a more decent job on that than the tiny JCM800 heads that Marshall made some time ago.

The Rockmaster has a little more sting in the tail and following the analogy, it starts in the '80s and stops around the 2000s, packing some punch but not a modern hi-gain sound. I liked its nicer clean channel. I think this amp is more versatile yet has less character, at least to my subjective ears.

Among the two, the 30W Gigmaster head would win this round for me with a suitable 2x12" cab. I perferred the sounds of the heads much more than of the combo versions.
