Envelope Filter/Auto Wah Pedal?

Re: Envelope Filter/Auto Wah Pedal?

I've only owned one/used one -- a Prometheus SubDecay. It's pretty cool and has a lot of options for creating some pretty weird tones. Still, it's not a pedal I use very often.

Re: Envelope Filter/Auto Wah Pedal?

I love envelope filters/ auto wahs. My favorites are the MXR envelope filter and the DOD FX25. MXR is great for the smoother Jerry type tones and funky rythem stuff, but the DOD is sssssoooo nasty in a musical way... I use both and sometimes together in series or parallel.

Wilson effects makes the envelope phollower which is an MXR clone. I've got both the MXR and Wilson, and Wilson nailed it. Can't tell the difference in a blind test at all. DOD's can be found for $25-$60 used.

Re: Envelope Filter/Auto Wah Pedal?

I used a EH Q-Tron back in the days. The power jack was faulty and shorted out my whole board during a gig. Everything went dead, worst gig of my life. Local press were there, management you name it. The band broke up after the gig. Last time I used anything by Electro-harmonix or an Envelope Filter.
