Epi JOE B Firebird...

Re: Epi JOE B Firebird...

Not trying to be a snob, but I would not pay $1,299.99 for an Epiphone...especially when there are new Gibson Firebirds available with 2 pickups.

Re: Epi JOE B Firebird...

the firebird I is cool. clapton used to play one for a bit. its like a gibson esquire. the gold one is $1300 which is silly but im sure some people will buy it. the normal one is $799 which is much more reasonable. seems like the pup is what it should be for a firebird, alnico bar magnets and 7.8k, not the modern overwound things gibson uses. still not going to be rushing to get one but if i saw one used at a decent price i might consider it

Re: Epi JOE B Firebird...

That's hot, but I would not pay that much for it. Artist models always cost more due to them getting royalties on sales so prices get hiked a bit. I love the look of the Firebird I. Wouldn't mind one at all, but would go after used like jeremy.

Re: Epi JOE B Firebird...

I'd pay half that new if it had a single humbucker (preferably the new skinnerburst bridge)

I am a snob I guess. no way in he'll would I spend $1200 on a MIC/MIK epiphone with mystery wood encased in1/4 inch of plastic with cheap hardware and cheap electronics

Epiphone Japan is a different story.

Re: Epi JOE B Firebird...

Thirteen hundred for a barely past base model Epi? Pass.

Re: Epi JOE B Firebird...

The guitar is way cool but......

If I come across a reasonable used polymist hell yeah I'd grab that

Re: Epi JOE B Firebird...

I think what you are paying for is the 'meet and greet' package.

It's salty but I think most of the extra cost is the 2 tickets and meet & greet passes

The starting prices for his tickets at the venue closest to me starts out at $79...I wonder what seating the tickets are? You are also getting only 1 of 1,000 (the Gold color) and the meet & greet allows him to sign the guitar.

I get all of that–if that's your thing then go for it. But still, if I was forking over that much money I would rather have a Gibson Firebird than a signed Epiphone with a concert.

Re: Epi JOE B Firebird...

I agree about getting the Gibson instead.
Tickets for his next Chicago show start at $108 for the back row of the balcony (which after ticket fees and tax is probably around $130) up to $446 for the front rows

Re: Epi JOE B Firebird...

I still cannot get over tix prices these days....Last concert I saw was Allison Krauss and Robert Plant...6 or 7 years ago? Maybe more. We paid around $160 total for two including taxes and fees.. Balcony, midway up , Robert Plant's side, at Mohegan Sun.

Yes,I am a cranky old man....(obligatory lawn comment).

I remember paying less than 10 bucks. Some a few bucks more and some a couple bucks less. That was the late 70's. ZZ, Sabbath, Bad Co, Van Halen, BOC, Molly Hatchet, George T-Good, Kiss, T Lizzy, Hagar, Rush, REO ...
A kid back then could do chores around the neighborhood and easily buy tickets and ... whatever else :smokin: Worked the venues in the 80's so saw the shows for free. Yeah, I'm a cranky old f'er too.

Re: Epi JOE B Firebird...

ticket prices are stupid but people (including me) buy them. the people that pay crazy prices through scalpers apparently have more money than i do.

still kinda like that firebird I

Re: Epi JOE B Firebird...

Im pretty sure that would be a $300 at best if it didn't have his name on it! No doubt Joe has skills but the fact that he's basically made his name by endorsing products has always been a little hard for me to understand....

I'm nut a Joe B. fanatic but no doubt that he had to do something right to earn the endorsement opportunities in the first place. Saw a video of him and, I think, the Way Huge Overrated Special in which he made a point to insist that he was overrated. Came across as pretty humble. I say, more power to him.
