Re: Epiphone G-400 Pickups

Welcome to the forum. :)

Get a set of covered 59's, crank up your Marshall, and you're there. :burnout:

That sig guitar came out only recently. For the classic AC/DC tones, an SG with 59's through a Marshall will get you there.

Re: Epiphone G-400 Pickups

the antiquty HB`s will do better ac/dc than the sinature. To hot compared to those HB`S Angus used on his 67 sg std.

Re: Epiphone G-400 Pickups

hey highwaytohell42390, ignore this if i'm wrong. but, based off your taste in tone I might know you personally. Does your name start with a J? again sorry if this comes off wierd.

back on topic. 59's should easily get you good angus tone. i think you'd only need a hotter pup if you really needed to push an old marshall a little more. btw, most of his tone comes from the cranked marshalls.

Re: Epiphone G-400 Pickups

hello my friend!
I`v been playing ac-dc for 15 years and know everything about about it.
first of all you have to play hard and make you fingers do the tone!you know what i mean.....
Do not use a hot pickup,a medium output will do fine(alnico 2 or v).you want that ringing tone.
You`ll need to have a tube amp,Angus uses marshall heads.(plexis, jcm 800,jmp++++) Try not to use a lot of gain, make the tubes to the work!!!!!
So once again antiquty and seth lover HB`s will do great.
use earnie ball 10-46 gauges.

Re: Epiphone G-400 Pickups

Just wanted to let everybody know what kind of gear im using I play my G-400 through my PODXT Live and my Line 6 75 watt spider amp. So any other tips would be appreciated.

Re: Epiphone G-400 Pickups

59s are a good place to start - less cost than the antiq'ys or seths. And I find they do the trick. No power tubes to work here....so you are gonna need a fullrange OD device, no idea what the Pod has to offer there but like (much as I hate to advert this guy) a fulldrive or build yourself a pedal like my Alexa - which was just Jack Orman's SOS (a simple TS-9 design with less treble boost). I have a schem on my site.
