epiphone lp standard plus vs lp custom

Hi y'all
I already have a epi zakk wylde lp custom...and was thinking of getting either a alpine white custom with the jazz/jb set of course or a lp standard plus heritage cherry sunburst with the jazz/jb. My question would be is there any difference between the standard and the custom other then some finish stuff????

ps: sorry my ignorance but i've been a strickly fender shapped/floyd rose guitar fan for 13 years.

Ive seen wine red Customs with correct woods and thick maple top. If I'd had to go with an Epi, I'd definitely choose one that feels great, and has the correct woods.

Someone posted here that they sanded down an Epi Explorer and it WAS NOT mahogany as Epiphone said it should have been. Beware!
