wood type, too. The standard plus is made out of two pieaces of mahognoney/alder laminate, while the classic plus is a pice of mahogoney/alder laminate with a maple cap.

epi lps only have maple veneers(except the elitists). i think the the classic+ and the std+ are all the same except for the std having pickup covers

There is little difference between the std and classic lp's.
Except in the elitist line.
All non-elitist Epi's have photo-flames.

There is more diff between the std and custom which has better tuners, inlays and bridge.

I don't know if this is the norm but my Epi LP Classic PLus w/quilt top has a solid mahogany body with a solid maple cap. When I first took it apart and saw solid wood I was bit surprised but that also explained why it sounded so good too. :)

Are you certain it isn't an alder cap?

Well, that was then, this is now. The Goth series is Solid Mohogoney with an Alder cap, I believe. I know way too much about epiphones... more than anyman should know.

Either but thats an elitist or epiphone's quality has gone way up since 2002.
