So last week I jammed with some dudes from work and there was this gold Top Les Paul in the back corner. My eyes kept wandering over to it been songs... I guess a pile of dust and cobwebs on a guitar perks my interest more than any fancy showcase or lighting 
Anyway, I asked about it after a bit and found that it belonged to the drummer and he said it needed some major work. I told him to let me take it for a couple days and see what I could do.
So I grab it and it turns out it's an epiphone with this terrible Lynyrd Skynyrd inlay across the whole board. If you've seen one you know what I mean.. Beautiful otherwise, but gawd damn.
Now I like skynyrd and all but Christ it's a lot to take in. So I get it home, new strings, action fixed, clean it up and give it a spin. And wow this guitar sounds friggin awesome and plays like a dream.
So if anyone out there knows about epis, help me out. What would be the non skynyrd down your throat version of this guitar? I always felt epis were the Squier of Gibson, but this quality guitar has changed my outlook. I want one.
