Epiphone tuner replacment question

Will the standard sized tuning pegs fit Epiphone guitars ?

I want to replace the stock grover or whatever chrome tuners on my Epi goldtop with some more vintage looking tulip style but wasn't sure if Epi's have an odd shaft size ?

I know the Epi pots have been a problem before because standard Gibson speedknobs wouldnt fit those shafts so I wondered if the tuning pegs might be the same issue

Figured it wouldnt hurt to ask before I buy

They're 10mm, and vintage style are 7mm. You'll have to guy some conversion bushings (cheap) and ta da.

Re: Epiphone tuner replacment question

Good question. I have two EPI Pauls that I put Sperzals in. I had to dremel out the peg holes on just a hair larger and the other was a perfect fit. Making the holes larger was no big deal. Just gotta be careful.

Re: Epiphone tuner replacment question

The price is certainly nice on the Gotoh and they look the part, I'll give them a try. I do have a dremel if not, but figured if I could order the right thing in the first place it would help.

Annoying Epi can't share Gibson parts lol

Re: Epiphone tuner replacment question

Smarter thing to do is to dowel in the old holes and drill new ones for better tuners.

Bushing rob tone.
