hi guys new to the forum ..its really cool ive read up
on sum cool info


i have a Epiphone les paul Custom white its a very nice guitar i think
its one of the older Epiphones as its heavier than the newer white
custom ones which seem very lite for sum reason

the pick ups on the Epi are ok useable the reason i say this i was given
a loan of a Gibson les paul studio to use for a gig and although it was a
more expensive guitar better hardware ect the pick ups were more
brighter than my Epi les paul and it didnt think it had that much of a
difference compared to the overall sound and feel of the Epi..
infact i think my guitar was heavier


i play in 2 bands one is a tribute band(u2)
the other is a cover band coldplay/radiohead/neil young/pink floyd
ect

im wanting to put 2 humbucker PU in the custom Epiphone that
will give a bit more bit than the Epiphone PU's whats a nice Set to use
to cover different styles also machine heads whats a good set to
use and toggle switch the Epi one is poor


i have sum strats with i am customising too
with fender 62 pick ups..and sum duncans

Go with Grover tuners, a set of Pearly Gates, Switchcraft and CTS electronics, and please use some punctuation.

Yeah, punctuation would be nice. Barring that, I'd say go for the 59's to start. That should give you a good, all-round type of feel without spending the extra coin right away on the PG's.

-One of the first things I did to my Epi Lester Classic quilt top was put in a SwitchCraft 3 way switch and a matched set of CTS pots from Black Rose Customs. I use Orange Drop caps too. .022 for the bridge and .015 for the neck. Although now I am thinking of getting either some Mallory 150s or Hovland Guitarcaps. It's one HECK of a jump from the Epi bargain parts! My tuners actually hold pretty well even though they're that ugly, booger green. The pot set and switch only ran me about $40 including shipping. If you're going to upgrade p'ups, DEFINTIELY upgrade the cheap electronics too.

get bogner kluson style locking tuners. they have that nice keystone look, but are locking and really good quality. cts pots like everyone else mentioned, switchcrafts are really good, im gonna get one, the thing is, youll need to sand the cavity a bit because its wider than the normal ones, unless you get the mini switchcraft. while youre at it you should change the imput and everything. for a good wiring site, go to www.guitarelectronics.com theres some on there. theres some on the SD (this) website too. good luck. im about to do the same thing as you are with my epi lp goldtop, well except for the pickup swich, i already swapt mine.

i think u need a switchcraft leik other ppl say
but for the pikcups i donno lemme see
you play u2 and modern pop rock covers
so you got to cover a lot of ground

and need good cleans so maybe the tried and
true jb/jazz combo or if the jb is to brite u
could try the custom wich has more mids
than the jb

and still goes good with the jazz neck pickup
for sure get better electronics because a good pup
through crappy wire and switch
and pots and caps wont sound much
beter than what u already have

and that stuff is relatively cheap even for the
goods stuff so totally worth it of course i
could totally be wrong cuz to be perfectly onest
trying to read ur posts is liek totally confusing
cuz ur keyboard is obviously broken and missing keys
