EQ Pedal Help

Hi, i bought my first EQ pedal the Behringer EQ700.
Never owned an EQ before...How do i boost the mids on it
for solos like Slash ??? other equipment:

1. SX Les Paul (EG2) with SD Alnico II pros

2. EKO tube amp 60w made in 1963

3. Marshall Shredmaster clone

To boost the mids: start with all the sliders in the center, and then push the middle few upwards, to make a "sunrise" shape. The depth of the curve will affect how much mid boost you get.

Slash doesn't boost just the mids for his solos, he uses a clean boost for a pure increase in volume. To achieve that with your EQ, just push up the "level" slider on the right. This will increase overall volume. You may find that the tone needs a slight change with the boost. In this case, change the other sliders until the tone sounds good to you.

Slash uses this pedal with the boost control turned to about halfway between 1 o' clock and 2 o'clock.

On a more general level, try out your pedal thoroughly to discover what it can do.

Set all the EQ bands at zero cut/boost. Adjust one frequency band. Listen to how this alters your guitar sound. Next, reset that band to zero. Try cutting and boosting another band. Repeat for every frequency band.

After that, try adjacent pairs of controls. Later, try three at a time. Eventually, you will deduce how much boost (or cut) in each frequency band creates the change that you desire.

Yes, exactly. It might be a steep one--like an upside-down "U"--or a very gradual one--like a "(" character turned sideways--and it might or might not reach right to the edges of the available sliders. Experimentation is encouraged, as Funkfingers says.
