ERNIE BALL Music Man Stingray pickups

Can anybody give me there thoughts about replacing
the Music Man pickups with the Semour D. pickups.
I find the pick ups for the Stingray a little too bright
and brittle on the mid to high end,, ok for funk and rock, but
need a little more round tone for the R&B and Jazz gigs

ive built a few basses for people that had a musicman pup and i think the duncan alnico is the best sounding musicman pup available. the only pup ive ever liked more was a lane poor musicman pup and as far as i can tell, you might never even see one let alone be able to buy it.
duncan makes two mm style pups, the ceramic and the alnico. the ceramic and the alnico, the ceramic is more aggressive in the upper mids. the alnico is sweeter with more bottom and a more open top.
for r&b and jazz, youll need to roll back the high end. most music in those styles is probably played on a fender style bass which has a pup closer to the neck, so you are fighting an uphill battle but i think you can get there.
you should check out the duncan mm preamp as well, very musical and itll allow you to get where you want to be
