Ernie Ball

Re: Ernie Ball

Sterling (Sterling by Music Man) has a version that wont cost as much as your car. Not the same quality but they do make some decent guitars. At least they used to anyway. I haven't kept up.

Re: Ernie Ball

The Sterling ones are supposed to be great, but I haven't tried them yet. I'd imagine that is the only way I can ever get an Albert Lee, as the USA ones are way above the average musician's budget.

Re: Ernie Ball

The Sterling line is pretty stout. I've played a few of the guitars and own a SUB Ray4 Bass, which is killer and even better since I put a Duncan SMB-4a pickup in it. After the OLP line debacle (face it, they sucked and EBMM knew it), they made the decision to do it differently and make sure their import line was up to par. Almost reminds me of the G&L Tribute Line, except the Tributes have USA Electronics in them.

Re: Ernie Ball

I hate demo videos with backing tracks. Even worse when it's someone playing along with an entire song.

Re: Ernie Ball

I think there was one before that without tracks. I don't like em either.

Kinda defeats the purpose.

Re: Ernie Ball

played a JP150 at a music store...well built, good sounding and great play-ability....that is what sold me on EBMM...bought a Silhouette as a result...

Re: Ernie Ball

That's great to hear!! Wanna buy me a car? (kidding) I think I liked the tone better than an Ibanez, but, I guess they're not in the same class.
I loved the tone, especially with bridge humbucker and middle single, also just the humbucker. Dream on baby, dream on.

Still the Queen of $99 Guitars (not literally~I think the range goes to $300 or something)

Cool. We'll just have to wait till the polls come in, as I'm 150mi from the closest shop/store. . . ck it online, tho

OK, falls under $$99 category. Hey, I'm all for the little wo/man. And I like it.

Thanks Mincer, and all of ya'll. I'll never get a car. . .

Re: Ernie Ball

That guitar may be goofy looking, but may also be the most comfortable guitar you ever played.

Re: Ernie Ball

I looked at these, and instantly decided I like my G&L "strats" better. The Legacy, Comanche and S500 have the upgrades that work for me, while retaining the vintage feel. The new Cutlass/Sabre were nicely made, but just didn't do anything for me.
