ES-335 Copy Older Model

I ended up doing some trading today for some pedals I had been wanting. My end of the trade was more than the pedals so I ended up with a guitar I don't really need.

The guitar is an older Samick SARC-902, which is a copy of a Gibson 335. The guitar is in at least 9 out of 10 condition and comes with a nice hardshell case, which is worth another $75 at least.

Now about the guitar. I have checked the net and did some Googling, and from what I have found, this guitar was made between 88 and 91, so that puts it around 20 years old. The fit and finish on this guitar will stand up to any Gibson I have seen. I had read the older Samicks were handmade, and it wouldn't surprise me on this guitar. It is nothing like any of the Epiphone models you see, everything on this guitar is assembled perfect. It is a mahogany brown and from the internet, say it was built like the Gibsons, a maple laminate body and a vaneer top. The vaneer on this guitar is mahogany and very nice.

I have been playing the guitar for the last few hours and it is set up perfect with low action, and plays like a dream. It has a neck very comparable to my 91 Gibson Studio Lite, just a little thicker than the 60's but not quite as chunky like a 50's.

If your looking for a nice high quality 335 style guitar, take a hard look at this one. If I liked hollowboddies, I doubt I would let it go, but I really need to get some cash to finish my pedal board. I'll post some pics tonight and try to get some nicer outdoor pics tomorrow. I'll also take some pics of it with it's original pickgaurd.

From googling the guitar, it looks like the going price for them is between $500 to $575, but sometimes the net is washy about real prices. I'm thinking $450 shipped and insured with the hardshell case. If this price is too high, feel free to let me know fair market value. Also open to trades.

Thanks for looking & pics to follow!

Luci Lu

The Samick looks like a seriously good guitar, and those Marshalls are incredible, are those serious? I never seen anything as sweet as that looks. in all seriousness, if I can stop being serious for a moment and offer up a DLT style trade bait here goes...

More carp than pictured... All that for the Samick, but you'd have to throw in those glorious Marshalls.

Ok, now back to being serious.... seriously. :D
