Whats the difference between the ESP's and the LTD's?? There doesnt seem to be a massive difference in price (although i havent looked into it much). Am i correct in assuming LTD is to ESP what Squire/EPI is to fender/gibson? or is this totally wrong?

Re: Esp??? Ltd????

actually there is no diffenrece cause you can find both good guitars (esp and ltd deluxe) but when you can find the same guitar in ltd and in esp, the ltd is the cheap one

Re: Esp??? Ltd????

ltd is cheaper, and less quality. however, its not that much less quality, at all actually.

its not what epiphone is to gibson or squire is to fender at all....imo

Re: Esp??? Ltd????

Agreed. I wondered what LTD was until I bought my bass. A mid-price, well-constructed instrument. Squiers are not made with the same craftsmanship from what I can see. My bass is a neck-thru design, mahogany body, flame maple top with a see-thru finish. Maple/walnut neck w/ a rosewood fretboard. Two humbuckers, active 3-band eq. Made quite a bit better than LesStrat :grumble:

Here's the bass (for those who don't remember Black Beauty):

sergeon has some pics of his ec-1000, mine looks basically identical......check out the flame!

Re: Esp??? Ltd????

I don't think you can equate ltds to epis. The construction on LTD's is really good, especially the deluxe 1000 series. Of course ESPs are better but not by the same differential as Gibsons and Epiphones. Plus they are very affordable for the working guitarist. The 1000's usually come loaded with great features. The only thing I don't like about both the ESPs and LTDs is that their finish options are somewhat limited but other than that minute detail I think they are great for the money.

Keep it Metal :headbang:

Re: Esp??? Ltd????

I own 2 ESP George Lynch guitars. The quality of the LTDs doesn't come anywhere near the ESP ... the wood, hardware, finish details, and paint job are all of lesser quality. If I had less than $1,000 to spend on a guitar, I would get a Fender Highway 1 Strat and put a JB or similar in the bridge. It's an American made guitar, very high quality. I hate everything I've ever played from Korea. Just my 2 cents, as an ESP owner/player.

Re: Esp??? Ltd????

Thanks guys this cleared it up for me, i wasnt sure as most of the LTD's seemed of a high quality anyway.
