Wow, that is the first time I have ever heard Slash use a proper clean channel...usually he just rolls the volume down and "cleans up" his Marshalls...I can't see what amp he is using, but that is very interesting.

And that IS the new Les Paul so one would have to assume they are the new pups as well.

P.S. Whatever gear that is, it sounds epic...some of the best slashtone I have heard in some time

I totally agree. Gain can be really overrated. Dude is getting some sweet hand tone.

sweet video, and regarding the singer, that's about standard for Stockdale. If you listen to the first Wolfmother album you'll know what I mean :)

Yes,that says it all. Effed If I know why Slash uses him.There's plenty of others around ,far better.:dot:

Yea, what I said wasn't meant as an "Andrew Stockdale can't sing" comment. He's no worse than Axl really. I really like Wolfmother and By The Sword totally rocks, his voice suits it really well IMO.

Actually Slash only rolled back the volume when Appetite was out. He didn't have millions of amps and a stage crew doing his switching.

And yea like someone already said thats the Appetite guitar so its probably the new pickups. He never uses his Les Paul copy live anymore because it is his baby. It's a recording guitar so that is the new guitar with new pickups.

The tone he's getting is very very good... sounds like old GNR tones!

Great tune. Slash's tone is killer. I think both Stockdale and Wolfmother are darn good. That being said, I think he sounded better when they did this on Leno. Still pretty good. Interesting that Stockdale had a token guitar with him on Leno and disregarded it for Lopez. Lol he didn't play it much on the Leno performance anyway.

Actually I thought the singing wasn't bad, in fact it was the best thing about it. The song was pretty bad and Slash ? He sounds like a million guys I've seen in a million bars. There are plenty of guys that can play a thousand notes a second and there are some guys that can play a few notes and sound great. Slash is neither of these things.
