Kind of defeats the purpose of having a 4X12 .... but I guess you could also have a fullstack with other 4X12 you like .....

Re: Ever Seen a 4x12 Combo Amp?

Fender had a 6x10 combo.:13: The Super Six reverb. Weighted in about just under 100lbs.:eek13:

Re: Ever Seen a 4x12 Combo Amp?

What is that B&W thing, a special Michael Schenker edition?

Fender also had the Quad Reverb, basically a silverface Twin Reverb chassis in a 4x12 combo cab. Favorite of Albert Collins and Billy Zoom. Looks like this:

Dangly just bought an oddball solid-state Fender 4x12 combo.

There's a 4x12 SS Marshall combo on eBay right now. Monstrous thing.

Not at all... Think of this- it's going to be easier to roll a (I'm guessing) 100 lb combo of that size than it is to carry a 40 lb head and a 60 lb cab or carry a 40 lb head and 40 lb 2x12, and you wouldn't be bent over like you would rolling a 2x12 on casters. Load in and out of the car and up & down stairs might be a bit more of a bear- but...

Albert Collins played through one of those.....I had a Super Six Reverb with six tens in it, cool amp....except for the weight and size.

Re: Ever Seen a 4x12 Combo Amp?

i turned down a honey of a deal on a Peavey Classic 50 4x10 because i didn't like the weight.... gezz imagine a 4x12 or 6x12 combo....

I had never heard of some of those amps.. The Hiwatt was a surprise... i bet that was one heavy pig of an amp....

Re: Ever Seen a 4x12 Combo Amp?

There is one of those Super six's for sale at my local GC, (Knoxville, Tn)

Re: Ever Seen a 4x12 Combo Amp?

nothing compares to an Ampeg Vt22 in the weight factor, in my opinion. That amp is a HOSS. Only 2x12 too

I'm pretty sure Freddie King was using one of those on a 70's era DVD I've seen. My repair guy has one, and it is BRUTALLY heavy.
