EVH D Tuna Routing

I want to install a D Tuna on my Floyd Bridge that is not top mounted. Since the string lock screws are still a little bit above the body I think I could get away with it but I am still not sure if it needs routing, anybody knows the minimum distance (between string lock screws and body) needed for this? Yes my Floyd is blocked to go down only, for those who may ask.

Thanks

Yep. I've had D-Tunas on four guitars, and the only one that was routed for it was the recessed, floating Floyd. (Which was as bad as it sounds.)

But you say your Floyd is not top-mounted. It's recessed, then?
