I got offered a peavey evh wolfgang (korean model) international special.
£300 with a case.
It is dark blueish and sweet.
Only got to play it for 20mins be4 we had to leave (travellin uk on holiday)

is it too much for a korean evh?
I'm from Australia and they arent sold over here anymore, peavey pulled out of Australia.

Looking on ebay its hard to tell.
Are the differences that much between Korean and USA?

I plan to buy in next 2 days, so let me know.

Please stay on topic and these few Q's.
1) is 300£ too much for a used Korean wolfgang in perfect cond?
2) what are the diffs between Korean and USA evh models?
3) IS there any alternatives u can show me for wolfgangs (im set on awolfgang tho, just need a good deal).

Please hurry and thx in advance.
Grandor.

Remember shipping to AUst. from USA is 100USD.
Me taking a guitar on a plane back to aust is free!

Re: EVH wolfgang (urgent) is this too much?

eh ? im sure you've already posted this.

ok 300 pounds is 100 pounds of retail so thats good + has a case which saves you 50 - 75 pounds

the main differences are - cheaper pups, cheaper floyd cheaper parts on the whole. no tone pot.

quilt top as opposed to flame.

double check the D tuna works (it doesnt work so well on a couple of the korean ones) and then if you like it, go for it :)

but for the money its a good axe.

It doesn't work so well on the American models either. :laugh2:

Yeah, that sounds like an okay deal. According to today's exchange rate, one US dollar = .55 UK pounds. I still think you can do better on Ebay though, even with shipping factored in. It depends on whether or not you want a brand new one. If you don't care one way or the other, you can probably pick up a used American special in excellent condition for roughly the same price as a new Korean model.

the US ones have a real top, while the korean ones have a laminate. also the US ones have a nice oil/wax finished neck that IMHO would be a dealbreaker. But if you love the guitar, why not go for it?

Re: EVH wolfgang (urgent) is this too much?

In what way is it free to take a guitar back to austrailia?

You'll get charged duty my friend. It's a bit tough to put a guitar in a plastic bag and stick it up your a$$...

Re: EVH wolfgang (urgent) is this too much?

Someone might need to confirm this.
T or F.

Korean models are the only ones with 'special' on the headstock.

Is this true? Looking at pix it looks like it is...

the korean models are easy to distinguish, first off they have a quilt top not flame. and the neck is not birdseye maple like the standards.
another give away is the cheaper made floyd.
and i always noticed that the korean version is very crisp and bright when unplugged(just playing it acoustically) compared to the USA's?

here is the MIK one,

and here is the USA one,

notice that the USA has a different chrome trem and the flame top
