Factory description-

THE PILEDRIVER HAS HIGH OUTPUT SLEDGEHAMMER PERFORMANCE AND IMPACT WITH MASSES OF FULL, FAT DRIVE AND TRUE SLAB-BODIED GRUNT.

These coils have the output of a hot humbucker and all the frequency response of a true single coil, which makes them perfect for the modern player looking for the ultimate hot Tele® coil set.

The Piledriver Tele® set sacrifices none of the original Tele® character in the pursuit of well-defined power. Rich and deep bottom end combine with fat single coil clarity for a truly versatile set of high output pickups.

Designed with the modern Tele® player in mind, the Piledriver set has a throaty mid range and fuller, sweeter highs so that fast riffing has a real edge and single note work really punches through. Although the Piledriver output will give any humbucker a run for its money, the voice is pure Telecaster® with a rounder, darker twang and a fatter snap in the bass. Clean playing has plenty of depth and a warmer, treble response compared to lower output vintage coils, while overdriven tones are strong, capable of controlled harmonic feedback and tremendously tight crunch tones. The bridge coil uses a slightly thicker zinc plated steel baseplate for extra definition and punch while the calibrated neck coil is available in traditional neck cover or open coil as required.

Re: F.S. Bare Knuckle Piledriver Telecaster Bridge...

Damn it Jim, I want that pickup! Can I pay you in installments? I can do a dollar or two a month. If that will work, let me know! Good luck on your sale. The price is great for what these babies go for new and used. I loves me some beefy tele bridge pups and while I've not tried one, I've heard the BK Piledriver is an exceptional tele bridge pickup. Plus, I love that name! PILEDRIVER! Reminds me of my great gramma's drink of choice. Back in the day Screwdrivers (vodka and orange juice) were popular, she opted for a mix of vodka and prune juice. Piledriver indeed!

How does it respond to the guitars volume control? I've had some 'beefers' that sounded the same through the vol knob rotation. They quickly found new homes. While I dig more beef than twang, I still want a bridge pickup that will interact with the guitars volume and tone controls (Pickups like Zhangs Paul Bunyan, Lollar's Special, Don Mare's 0038 and a couple I had wound for me by a member here) providing a wealth of cool tones.

Unfortunately I'm kinda looking for a all at once sale, LOL...

It cleans up pretty well with the volume knob & interacts really great with the tone knob!!! I mean that midrange this pickup has is pretty constant but you definitely gets a bit more twangy as you turn it down. It's still very much a Tele bridge pup, just "thicker" sounding & obviously it's got a little more output than most...

I was considering keeping & turning my Triple Tele into a Esquire but I ended up finding something else for the bridge of that guitar that gave me a lot of versatility with the 51 Nocaster's in the middle & neck. It is a very good price for this pup, unfortunately I don't really have a home for it any longer so I figure if I can recoup some of what I spent I probably should???

Keep an eye out guys, I've got a couple more of them. I'm keeping them were they are for the time being but I'm sure I'll want to swap them out eventually.....
