I'd like to put a bridge pup in my custom tele guitar (poplar body, ebony fretboard) that can handle both nice clean tones (for pop music) and some hard-heavy tones (gnr, lynch, pinch harmonics). I tried the DMZ Cruiser (bridge) but it was too trebly and thin, so I put it in the neck and it's very good. I'd like some suggestion for the bridge, and I'd prefer a single coil sized pickup. I remember I used in the past the JB (standard humbucker) and I liked it a lot for distortion but I did not like the clean tones a lot.
I was thinking to try the Fast Track 1 because from the description it seems ok for me, even if I don't know if it can give hard-rock tones and screams, or I looked at the Chopper and the Virtual Solo. I used in another guitar the Hot Rail many years ago, and I remember the good distortion but bad cleans. I like a lot the look of the Duckbucker, but I suspect that it's far from the tone I look for.
Any suggestion? I'd say that the ebony fretboard gives a rather characteristic tone to my guitar, with a good snap with a powerful main tone but little overtones and harmonics. I think I should compensate a little with the pickup.
