Favorite DIY-able Distortions/Fuzzes/Overdrives?

Hello! So, yesterday I tore 3 ligaments in my right knee while skiing (My ACL, MCL, and Miniscus). This has successfully freed up an ENORMOUS amount of time in my life for a while. I'm pretty limited to what I can do right now, but I know I can still build pedals!

So, does anyone have any suggestion for distortions/fuzzes/overdrives that have particularly blown them away? I dont really want to say what tone I'm after, I just want to build a bunch of pedals that I can play around with. So basically, I just want people to post their favorite distortion/fuzz/od devices! The next three month of my life are going to be spend doing pretty much nothing, so I have a lot of time to build a lot of pedals! I'm capable in constructing circuits. I've done this maaaaaaaaaany times before. Thanks for any replies!

Dig around on Aron's DIY Stompbox PageI'm sure you'll find plenty of possibilities. Then look on the links page on the diystompbox forum and you'll find lots and lots more possibilities.

The BSIAB Brown Sound In A Box is a very popular build BSIAB Build I hope to build that one soon.

I like to build Fuzz Face clones. It's an easy circuit, you don't have to make a pc board (it can go on a terminal strip or proto-board). Modding it is fun too - swapping transistors can have a huge effect. Check out the "Technology of the Fuzz Face" at http://geofex.com/

I'm getting ready to build a batch of them for some friends.
