can as many people as possible post a sound sample of yourself or anyone using your favorite pickup for metal/ heavy rock

I know im not the only one that would benefit from this, but i just dont understand the sound differences between pickups with high mids, lows, highs etc. I heard the sound samples on seymour duncan site and they didnt help much.

My favorite: The Seymour Duncan Jazz Model. The lead riff thing is the Jazz neck and the rhythm is jazz bridge.

Here's another one with the Jazz Model with cleans. It's a weird song, but it's all Jazz Model as well.

Here's another somewhat heavy riff with the Duncan Jazz Model. It's a horrible recording, but at least it has a better representation of the Jazz in a lead situation:

They're all Les Pauls if that matters.

Now my second favorite is the Pearly Gates. It's in a Les Paul as well. Everything is a Pearly Gates. Anyways, this is about the best I can do. They're not the best recordings, but I just do what I do.

Re: Favorite pickups sound sample

I'm not much of a player, nor do I have much talent in recording, but I do have a couple that I think came out ok.

Rythym tone. JB in my Dean Hardtail. Amp tones courtesy of my Boss GT-6.

Lead Tone. APH in a cheap Yamaha Double Fat Strat copy for all the leads and clean tones. CC in the bridge for all the crunchy rythym.

Seth Lover in the neck of my Dean Hardtail. Just me noodling around trying to show off the warmth of this pickup. JCM 800 amp directly into the soundcard.

This is the CC. I like the tone here, but not necessarily the playing. Shows how smooth and creamy it can be as a lead pickup.

That's about it. Nothing as good as what Jolly does. He impresse me so much every time I hear one of his recordings.

Don't sell yourself short Jeff. You totally blew me away playing some of that Tesla stuff out in Ca.
