Re: Feedback for my recording needed

sounds like you need a click track. Other than that, I like the groove. You've got a lot of Buckethead showing through on your licks. Are you one a' dem Buckethead cultists? I'm to slow-handed to try.

Re: Feedback for my recording needed

I hardly know one or two buckethead songs, used the picture cause it was funny : ) btw whats clicktrack do you mean metronome?

Re: Feedback for my recording needed

Yea, its usually played over headphones. I'd suggest just making a track of it for the length of the song. You can visually move your tracks around to match the steep spikes a click track presents on the meter. I'm sure there's methods to quantize other tracks to a click track as well. Quantize = stretch audio to fit into time.

man that's some amazing advice, I even didn't know such a thing existed. I found "Logic Pro Flex Time" doing this quantize thing I will look at it.

Btw, I hear people talking about "polishing" their sounds in Logic Pro(or any DAW), what does that mean exactly? for example I have that computer created harmonica track in the song, how can I "polish" it? is that like adding reverbs and compression etc?

Re: Feedback for my recording needed

Yea, reverbs, compressions and eqing. Eq is the biggie and compression/limiting is another way of making sure the instrument is sitting in its frequency range well and doesn't interfere with other frequency ranges. Its all pretty complicated, really. I'd suggest looking up frequency ranges for musical instruments, and then applying that to some eq. Watch how much reverb you add as a little goes a long way and also tends to push the instrument to the back of the stage, so to speak. Same with compression.

In Logic Pro X, the metronome is activated by a "button" to the right of the time/bar/beat display. (Just below the Bluetooth and Airport symbols on the toolbar.) The base tempo at which the metronome counts is set within the time/bar/beat display window. The time signature(s) and any tempo variations are set in the Global Tracks. These hidden tracks are accessed by clicking on the "button" directly below the View menu and the Play and Automation "buttons".

Yes, the learning curve is steep. I've been using Logic for six years now and I would not pretend to know a quarter of it.

Re: Feedback for my recording needed

sounds neat, experimental. seeing a comment on a click I thought there wouldn't be any drums. don't really need a click if a drum track is keeping the beat, hehe.
