Feedback on Acmeguitarworks.com

So far it's been really terrible.

I placed my order on the Suhr Aldrich on the 29th of October.
Only on the 3rd of November did they tell me that it was out of stock and they'd have it on the 12th.

It's now the 16th and still no word from them, nor has it been shipped.

Re: Feedback on Acmeguitarworks.com

they are extremely slow. I got a loaded pickguard from them and the work was great quality, but it took months to get. I used paypal and after wating nearly 3 months I open a complaint against them and then suddenly a few days later my stuff shipped.

Re: Feedback on Acmeguitarworks.com

I'll send them an e-mail in the next couple of days, if things don't work out I think I'll open a complaint as well.

Re: Feedback on Acmeguitarworks.com

The same thing happened to me with GFS. They said my order would ship in less than 1 week and after waiting 1 month, I opened a complaint. They shipped it out about 2 weeks after the complaint.

Re: Feedback on Acmeguitarworks.com

Sent them a demanding email and they shipped it later the same day

'lol' is all I have to say. What were they doing, sitting on their asses?
They didn't even bother coming up with an excuse.

Re: Feedback on Acmeguitarworks.com

they had excellent service until their move

I was actually considering an order, since they're one of the only places that sells Callaham parts besides Callaham.

Didn't Wile E. Coyote teach you guys to never buy from any place called "Acme"?

i was gonna order some Callaham parts from them but since i read this thread i decided to just order here: http://www.specialtyguitars.com/ which is listed on the Callaham site as one of their dealers along with Acme. now its been 5 days since i ordered and they still haven't got an email for shipping verification, i emailed them the other day and no reply.:wrf:
BTW, i didn't have problems with GFS. my order shipped the next day.

Re: Feedback on Acmeguitarworks.com

I ordered right after they made a nice size foible. Ordering a BOATLOAD of HSS-routed pickguards from chandler without properly measuring where the pickups went in relative to the routing on my guitar. I received my strat guard back and the middle pickup slot was about 1/4" too close to the neck pickup. I called back George and he said he realized the mistake after it wouldn't fit routed guitars and that he would redo the entire assembly for free. True to his word he did, and paid shipping both ways. However, this was after he did the move to Florida, but I haven't ordered anything from there since. I have been thinking for my HSS strat to get it a PG filled with SC antiquities, but I don't feel that it should be a 2 to 3 mth wait to get one with solderless connectors.

It would be really far out and groovy if Acme would state what's going on on here. They are an SD dealer and it could be something as simple as they ran out of that part, or they're having a problem with PGs, who knows. But, being a moderator on a different forum for laptops, I think AGW does deserve a chance to defend itself on here and why things haven't been going right for it.

Re: Feedback on Acmeguitarworks.com

I have heard these horror stories many times, but personally speaking I have never had a problem with my pickup orders - all over the course of the last year, so I assume this was post move? I email George asking if the item is in stock and when he confirms its in stock I send a reply that I just placed order XXX for said item and he usually responds back, "will ship today!" Only once did I not receive a reply in regards to an in stock item, so someone else got my order instead.
