i use the GT-pro, and love it. but yeah, don't buy anything the sales guy says is great. do research first.

the gt8 is amazing, a very deep box. I use my gt-pro straight into the PA.

Is it better than the XT Live for distortion modeling? How about Modulation FX?

Re: Feedback on BOSS GT-8 effects processor

Ive been jammin with it all day and its pretty sweet. Distortion sounds great i meen any type u can think of, Its got a really good Muff sound. and verry practical and simple to use. I really like the panning effect where u can controll sound comming from left or right speaker output for a surround sound effect. and for $450 i could get about 5 pedals or with the GT-8 for $450 i could get all thoes effects pluss all the other ones made by boss and tons of amps to choose from and just allot of goodness pretty much.

i had an XT, sold it for the GT-Pro. The distortions on both are great, although the GT gets the edge because you can have 1 amp on the right, and one on the left, or toggle between 2 different amps, or select amps with how hard you pick, all within the 1 patch. with the mod effects, the GT absolutely *kills* the XT. The only fault (for some) is that there is *so much* to tweak (many parameters, effects in any order) that it is option overload for some people.
The XT excels in that you can get great sounds fast. The GT takes time to understand all that is going on. It just depends on how you like to work.
