hello, I have a problem ...when playing my guitar there are some notes when playing has some what I believe is feedback ,its kinda like benden a string but very rapidly.are there any tips for getting rid of that and i also noticed that my bridge sh-6 humbucker on the high E string side theres what looks like a copper sleave of sorts, hanging out there where I can see it .Is that a problem as well ? I apprecaite everyone answering my questions ...thanks

Re: feedback ?

bending string very rapidly sound to me like wolftones.

that copper sleeve isnt the thing causing the wierd tones but it isnt a good thing either. can you take and post a pic?

how close are your pups to the strings?

Re: feedback ?

as far as the pickup problem I don't have the sources with me to take picture right now ..it's packed away. The best way i could describe it would on the high E string side on the pole piece side ,the v like space between pole pieces and magnets ,there I see a copper like sleeve, about a fourth of its dynamiter.
I just found out that it is in fact wolftone ..Whats happening is for exsample I pick an Am note on the G string and my open A string rings causing that wolf tone.I could use my palm to keep that string quite while playing but are other ways?

Re: feedback ?

bridge pickup low Estring is about 3/32 from pole piece and high E is about 1/16
neck pickup 1/8 even

Re: feedback ?

Turn down the gain. :)

You're getting sympathetic vibrations, which comes down to having too much gain or volume.

The copper shield is normal. I can see the same thing on both my CC's and have no issues with either pickup.

Re: feedback ?

I 've turned down the volume when playing clean and it does reduce it a bit but I've noticed that the open A string always tends to ring and causing the wolftone and its kinda bother some in other ways as well.is there some thing else I can do to prevent that.I like to play to play loud.is there another way?

And thank you for letting me know about the copper sleeve. I was sweating that .

Re: feedback ?

Change your position in relation to the amp. I used to have that problem with my old classical with a Barcus Berry pickup when I hit certain notes.

Re: feedback ?

Good piont, I thought that maybe my position had something to do with it so i moved around but it had little change. could it be the room maybe?

Open strings vibrating sympathetically like you're describing is natural. The effect is more noticeable the more the guitar signal is ampified.

I mute with my palm and sometimes with a single finger per string.
