I've had this Johnson J-bass laying around for a while, haven't done a **** thing with it. It's currently a "project," because it's missing two strings, a pickguard, and an input jack. Basically, about 10 bucks will fix it up back to stock (minus the pickguard, and the pickups are both direct-mount, so the pickguard is purely aesthetic) to replace the strings with a bulk set and an input jack from Radio Shack.
It would make a good bass for a beginner or a good backup/mod platform for anyone who likes to tinker. Same general quality as an SX, I'd say, judging from the SX bass I owned before. I'll try to get some pictures if anyone is interested. 100 bucks and shipping takes it.
Their site doesn't have any info on it, but I found one on Ebay that's of the same style and make, but a different color. Here's one in green. The one I have for sale is a dark red, almost purpleheart-ish.
