Fender american standard stratocaster 2012 HSS with 59/CUSTOM HYBRID TREMBUCKER TB-16

Hi!

I have got a beautiful Fender american standard stratocaster HSS (MY 2012).
I would like to swap the bridge humbucker pickup with a 59/CUSTOM HYBRID TREMBUCKER TB-16. I still love the two fat50cs single coil pickup.
When I replaced the pickups in my blade stratocaster RH4 I used only duncan there with the Suhr wiring schema (VERY NICE).

Now my problem is a little bit different... This stratocaster has got a middle RW/RP fat50cs single coil and I would like to mantain the correct phase and hum cancelling in the 2nd switch position having the TB-16 SLUG coil active.

I think that I have to:
- replace the humbucker and wire it as described in ducan HSS schematic (without swapping the black and green wires)
- swap the fat50cs neck pickup with the middle RW/RP fat50cs pickup

Is it correct?

THANKS

Well, the Hybrid is out of phase with a normal Fender SC, so combining it with the neck (which is not rw/rp) would still make it out of phase if you don't swap the Hybrid's wires.

Flip the magnet in the TB-16 and keep black as hot and green as ground. This will reverse the polarity and be hum-cancelling in position 2 without having to do swap the neck and middle pickups, or reverse their wiring. Splitting the TB-16 will still be done by connecting the red/white pair to ground.

Ohi Ohi, so the only solution is to buy also two Duncan single coils! I don't want to flip the magnet because the slug coil will be near the bridge...

No, you have to flip 180° the magnet inside the pickup, not the p'up itself.

Post techs can do this (it isn't too difficult).

Swap the neck and middle and reverse their wiring. I hope the middle has enough lead length.

...though flipping a magnet is a very simple thing to do.

Thank you very much, I will try to reverse the single coil pickup and their wiring! I hope the TB-16 will be a great pickup!
