Fender amp problem...

Im having some new found problems with my fender amp. If you could give me some help that would be great.

I put a new set of strings on my gutiar recently, and either something about the strings, or something with my amp is making an annoying staticy sound. It almost sounds like a string buzzing, but not quite.

The sound is always on the same tone, . ( 20nd on the low E, 15th on the D, 10th on the g, ect)

Its a fender blues deluxe. 40w tube

Re: Fender amp problem...

If your guitar is tuned to A440hz, the note you are describing is C. Other than that, there isn't enough information to realy troubleshoot the problem. Here are a few steps that might help isolate the source, though.....

1) Mute the volume of the guitar and see if the problem still persists. If it does, then the guitar might have something loose that responds to a sympathetic frequency. If not,

2) Slowly add volume and listen to see if the noise is present at low levels.... If so, then the problem is in the amp and would need to be serviced. If not,

3) Continue to crank the amp to see if it is just the vibration of the speaker that might have caused a tube housing to come loose. If so, it should still be serviced by a pro. If not,

4) Raise window and toss it out.... Go outside and bring it back in. Set it up and start jamming. The result should have taken your mind of the tiny buzz of the relative "C" note. LOL!!

Seriously, hope some of this helps......

Good Luck!

Re: Fender amp problem...

Turn it off and turn it back on. That usually works for computers

Just kidding. I don't know much, but have you tried a different guitar cable?

Re: Fender amp problem...

Fiber-optics got it. I went back in last night and checked the input jack, along with (of all things) actually turrning it off and on.

No more problem it seems. Thanks for the help :).
