Fender Atomic Humbucker Damaged?

I recently replaced the lead wire on my Fender Atomic Humbucker Bridge pup. It now reads 8.43k resistance, and it's supposed to read about 16k. Trouble is, I never measured the resistance before replacing the lead wire, and I haven't put it into a guitar and listened to it yet. One of the 4 posts that the lead wire solders to raised out of the bottom of the pup a bit when I soldered the new wire to it, and I just pushed it back down.

Think it's messed up/damaged?

Update: both north and south coils show appx. 4k dc resistance each, but no continuity between north start/north finish and south start/south finish separately, and also no continuity from north start to south finish when put in series.

Re: Fender Atomic Humbucker Damaged?

Check all of the solder joints.

Also, are you certain that the pickup is a Fender Atomic model and not, for example, their Tex-Mex model?
