Fender Bassman 10

Have you guys heard any good things about this amp? There's one for sale in my area for $125. The Fender Bassman 10 is a 4x10 combo amp made from 1972-1980? with 50 watts and all tube it sounds like deal. Though I'm just curious if it makes sense as I already have a fender hot rod deville. Maybe it'd make a good bass amp? Thanks guys.

Re: Fender Bassman 10

For $125 it's a steal. Good for guitar - maybe not quite as complex as a classic Fender guitar amp with reverb, but good. Probably a little bit better in the cleans than your DeVille. Takes pedals well.

Most people would say that you can't really use it for bass, at least not in a band setting. I'd disagree. If you're looking for old school bassy sounds and you don't play that loud, it'll work just fine. My wife used one of them in a punk rock 6-piece (?!!!!) and you could hear the bass. Not super loud or clean, though.

Maggot, this appeals to me! A wife that plays bass, in a punk rock band, with 6 members. You're a lucky guy...
Who remembers Suzi Quattro?
