Fender cheaper amp cab "woods"

Is the wood Fender uses in their cheaper combos Particle Board..... and is the speaker baffle Particle Board as well?

I was looking at a Marshall MG that has a tear in the vinyl.... The top board is Ply Wood and the sides and bottom are Particleboard.... guess the plywood adds support for the handle...... Could Fender's cheaper combos be like this too?

Most Marshalls use particleboard now. My DSL401, which is not a $1,000 amp, was all particle board. I sold it and traded it in for an old JCM 800 combo.

My old Fender M80 is made of plywood though

one reason why the RI's dont shine like they should. If they were pine, they'de be unbelievable.

One thing i might do is get the new cab for it and move the chassis and speaker.

Ya i hear Pine without knots can be wonderful..... Looking at the wood in my original 65 Fender Deluxe it is Plywood... i have a tear on the vinyl at the front corner and it is large ply..

Ya i was thinking that Particleboard is used a lot now.... My Marshall 1912 cab is particalboard as is my newer Fenders.... i was thinking of making a few small cabs out of different wood types.... solid wood, particle, and ply.... i have 3/4 birch ply cut up already... but it weighs a ton... i think i should use thinner stuff...

Someone once told my that the front speaker board should either be thinner, or thicker and denser.... which is it? anyone know?
