If its a 3 screw neck probably S-S-S. I don't think fender routed for humbuckers until the '90s.

Damn.
I was hoping to not have to live with the normal headstock and bleached-ass color of the standard or the birdseye and abalone of the Lite Ash.
But such is life.
It was a purely cosmetic decision, as I have the pikcups for this guitar on order, and there's no way they'll sound bad in any decent guitar.

well you could buy a 70s strat neck on ebay and then get a body made for you by warmoth or usacg. i reaallly dig the big headstock too and when i get some money im gunna build a nice 70s style strat. good luck.
